Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, Peake Ranch Vineyard, Santa Rita Hills

Peake Ranch is located on the eastern end of the Santa Rita Hills. The 50 acres of vines is planted to chardonnay, pinot noir, syrah, and grenache. Vineyard Manager Mike Anderson and his team are very proactive in the vineyard balancing the various sun exposures and cool evenings. We are thrilled with the quality of the fruit and look forward to many vintages with Peake.

We currently source all of Blocks 3 and 4 (Pommard Clone Pinot Noir). Higher up the hill we also source a small amount Block 16 Pinot Noir which is planted to 115 Clone. For our Chardonnay, we source from Blocks 2A (Clone 76) and Block 2B (Clone 96). Further up the hill on the western side of the vineyard we also get some Block 7 Wente Clone.

We feel that these various clones coming from different micro climates with in the vineyard add a further complexity to our wines. Who knows, maybe there will be a single bock designate in a future release!
